A suspected arms smuggler who was recently apprehended by security operatives is current spending his first days of the New Year at the police custody.
Based on online reports by the Nigerian man is suspect to be a Fulani man and he was arrested with arms by vigilante members at Pategi ferry Port in Niger State.
Upon his arrest, he was immediately tied up by the security men and handed over to the Emir’s security escort.
Also, barely a month ago, troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, arrested three notorious gun runners in Rijau area of Niger State and recovered 44 rifles.
The three gun runners were arrested during a Stop and Search operation at Rijau.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the gun runners were heading to Bena in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi, which shares boundary with Zamfara.
