A 14-year-old schoolboy is set to face a whooping before his 30-year sentencing behind bars after impregnating his teenage sister.
His 16-year-old sibling gave birth to a baby girl in the toilet of their family home in Malaysia.
Based on reports, the court heard the teen did not know she was pregnant until she delivered the infant in the north-western state of Perak.
The baby suffered head injuries when she fell into the ceramic toilet bowl at the property in the village of Taman Diawan, near Kampar.
The schoolboy covered his face as he arrived at a magistrates’ court in Kampar, dressed in a blue checked shirt and black trousers.
He admitted to committing incest, which carries a sentence of up to 30 years’ imprisonment and the lash under Malaysian law.
Members of his family also attended the case.
One woman, believed to be a relative, shouted at media photographers who were trying to take the boy’s picture.
Magistrate Nur Faizah Muhamad Saleh adjourned sentencing until next month to allow social workers to complete a report into the case.
He also banned journalists from the courtroom during the hearing.
Kampar was the centre of Malaysia’s tin mining boom in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but has long been in decline.
The schoolboy’s name has not been released.
